A popular 3hr walk and boat trip. It starts with a boat ride, and then there is an easy walk in the sub-tropical forest. Trevor’s and Carlo’s knowledge of the local fauna and flora and medical uses is inexhaustible. Next it is by boat through a formation called the “Gates”, which is amazing. Don’t forget your costumes, as there is a great waterfall to swim under, then another walk onto the high ground with the most amazing views and finally a boat ride back to the beach. You will need: sturdy walking shoes, sun hat, sun lotion, binoculars, camera, insect repellent and drinking water.
Sundown Cruise +- 2hrs
We will motor slowly up the Qolora River, the banks of which are densely populated with all kinds of bird life. If you enjoy swimming, bring your costumes, as well as camera, hats and your own liquid refreshments.
Cultural Trail +- 2hrs
This is where you can enjoy singing and traditional dancing and also the preparation and tasting of traditional food. You will end this off with an informal chat with a traditional healer. For this trail we need to book a day in advance as this is a lived in authentic African home.
This is where you can see the last remains of a San Midden. Trevor will pick you up in his 4x4 and will take you to visit a Khoisan Midden at Halls Point where about 4000 years of Khoisan history is exposed. You will then take a drive to the spectacular falls on the Gxara River before being returned home.
